Building Stronger Communities By Crossing Cultural Bridges

La Familia Resource Center offers many programs to multicultural families and individuals, helping them adapt to their new surroundings in Southwest Louisiana.

Mommy and Me: Where Learning Begins Now is a program developed by LFRC's director for preschool children between the ages of 2–4, which prepares them for entry into school. The program teaches the children the basics, ABC's, numbers, colors, months, etc. No fee if parent is enrolled in ESL class.

HOPE Tutoring Program was established to help children who struggle in reading and math. The age population served can range from kindergarten to high school. For most children, English is their second language, therefore they need reinforcement in reading and building their vocabulary.

Spanish Cultural Summer Camp is offered to children so they can experience different cultures and Spanish through arts and crafts, music, and storytelling. The camp is offered to children between the ages of 5–12.

  • Transcribe Documents to English or Spanish

  • Referrals to Resources

  • Family Advocacy
